Q: What is Presbyopia?
Presbyopia is an inevitable condition of aging. Its time of onset varies, but usually occurs between the ages of 40 to 45, when individuals begin to lose their ability to see close objects. This occurs when the lens, the clear focusing portion of the eye, thickens and gradually becomes resistant to bending or focusing. This is not, as many people fear, a serious deterioration of the eye. It is simply part of the normal aging process, and though not reversible, it is easily corrected.
Q: How long before I can see clearly?
You will see results immediately! Visual recovery varies for each person, but it is usually stable within three months. The speed at which your vision improves varies depending on your individual rate of healing, degree of correction and compliance with your post-operative instructions.
Q: When can I resume daily activities?
Most patients go back to work and resume virtually all of their daily activities the next day following LASIK surgery. Your doctor will discuss with you any activities you should avoid during the immediate post-operative period.
