Latest Advancements

Baby boomers are the fastest growing segment of the population. Someone turns 50 every 8 seconds and this trend will continue until 2011. Most baby boomers are used to being very active and, for the most part, not worrying about seeing things up close. Even if we needed glasses for far tasks, reading was usually not a problem. Presbyopia is certainly not a life threatening event, but is definitely a major inconvenience. We all like to think of ourselves as eternally youthful, but reading glasses get in the way of that image. Traditionally reading glasses, bifocals and bifocal contact lenses have been available to help correct this problem. They all work, but do not necessarily fit the lifestyle most of us have become accustomed to.

There are four ways to surgically correct Presbyopia: Near Vision Multi-focal LASIK or PRK, Monovision LASIK or PRK, Multifocal or Accommodating IOL, and CK- Conductive Keratoplasty. If you are considering having Laser Eye Surgery to reduce or eliminate your need for reading glasses, such as Near Vision Multi-focal LASIK in San Diego, you will be pleased when choosing the eye surgeons at Gordon Binder & Weiss Vision Institute. Our commitment to quality patient care is surpassed only by our dedication to leading edge technology and breakthrough vision correction techniques. We are excited and proud at Gordon Binder & Weiss Vision Institute to once again be on the forefront of modern technology and advances in vision care by offering more presbyopia correcting treatments in San Diego than any other clinic.

Because we perform Presbyopia Correcting Surgery using multiple laser platforms and surgical techniques, our surgeons are able to create a fully custom multi-focal treatment plan based on selecting the laser technology that offers you the best chance of reducing or eliminating your need for reading glasses. The surgeons of Gordon Binder & Weiss Vision Institute pioneered Near Vision Multi-focal LASIK and PRK in San Diego by following principles established in Europe that we have observed here for many years.

For patients with Cataracts or those experiencing the near vision problems associated with Presbyopia, we perform Lens Replacement/Implant Surgery with near vision presbyopia correcting lens implants such as the ReSTOR Lens Implant, the ReZoom Lens Implant and the Crystalens Lens Implant for eliminating dependence on eyeglasses, reading glasses and bifocals.

The Leading edge of vision correction technology.
